Generation Covid - how Young People Responded to the COVID-19 Crisis is an anthology that features young voices from across the UK. Capturing our stories as we reflect on what brought us together and kept us strong, the challenges we faced, and our reflections on what we can learn for the future from the Coronavirus Pandemic. I worked on this book project with youth organisation ‘I have a voice’ an organisation that empowers young people to engage in politics.

I chose to write Generation Covid to highlight the importance of the lasting effects from the pandemic. Despite hardships, I noticed a sense of community build within ourselves. I spoke to many young people who had inspiring stories, experiences and lessons to reflect upon. I wanted to give these young people a platform to tell their stories on, thus began my project of writing a book. 

 

The book does not shy away from the desperation and dark times experienced by our contributors, but the ultimate aim to be comforting and hopeful. Highlighting little things that helped us get through an incredibly difficult time, as well as things we can learn for the future.
